Meridian School of English is looking for an Assistant Director of Studies to join our Plymouth facility. Established in 1979, Meridian School of English in Plymouth and Meridian School of English in Portsmouth offer a wide range of standard and intensive English courses both for adults and juniors, including General English course, Exam Preparation English course, Executive English course, Teaching Skills for Teachers English course and Summer Residential courses. The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Materials management • Teacher assistance • Online learning support • Student testing and placements • Dealing with student problems and advice • Overseeing junior courses and assisting the Director of Services with any project that the school is involved in. As the ADOS you will be expected to deal with the unexpected in a calm and responsible manner at all times. Key measurable of the job: 1. Effective management skills 2. Effective communication skills 3. Flexible and adaptable personality in a work situation 4. Team player 5. Computer literate with skills capable using Office 2010, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint 6. Full clean driving license 7. Appropriate completion of a CRB/ISA disclosure, required prior to start Experience • Experience of working as an ADOS is preferred but not essential • Experience of working in a BC recognised school preferred but not essential • Experience of teaching juniors is beneficial • Experience of course development and syllabus writing is preferred • Experience with individual learning plans is preferred • Teacher training experience desirable but not essential |
